Is Karven for me?

How is this different from Tradify or ServiceM8?
Tradify and ServiceM8 are scheduling and invoicing tools that bolt a generic line-item form onto the front. Karven is a per-trade calculator engine. it knows what a 4500×2400 sectional door actually costs to build because the maths is in the template, not in your head. Many tradies run both: us for quoting, Tradify for the rest.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Karven runs in any browser. laptop, phone, tablet. There's an "Add to Home Screen" prompt on iPhone and Android so it sits next to your apps and works offline once cached. No App Store review queue, no IT.
What does it cost?
Free for 3 lifetime quotes (no card). Solo is $49/mo for unlimited quotes, branded PDFs, e-signature, follow-up automation. Crew at $99/mo adds multi-user; Pro at $199/mo unlocks AI photo / voice extraction and the embeddable lead widget. Monthly, cancel any time.
Can I put my own logo on the PDF?
Yes. and your contact details, ABN, terms, custom quote prefix (TF-2026-001 by default; change it to RILEY-001 if you want). Customers see your brand, not ours. PDFs render server-side at submit, so they're consistent across every device.
How does the calculator know my pricing?
An onboarding wizard asks 8–12 questions about your business. supplier markup, install crew rate per hour, GST registration, default margin, callout fee. Everything you answer becomes a variable inside the engine, so every future quote rebases to your numbers automatically. Bump your margin once in Settings, every new quote uses it.
Is my data hosted in Australia?
Yes. We use Supabase's Sydney region for the database and Vercel's Sydney edge for the app. Your customer data stays inside Australian sovereignty for compliance with the Privacy Act 1988. We never sell or share data with third parties. see /privacy for the full policy.
Can I use it on the truck or on-site?
Yes. Karven is mobile-first. Most tradies build quotes on their phone in the customer's driveway. Photos upload from your camera, voice memos transcribe via Whisper, and accepted quotes generate the deposit invoice automatically so you can leave with everything signed.
What if my trade isn't supported yet?
Start the 7-day trial (no card) and tell us. The engine handles three calculation patterns. configurator, volumetric, flat-rate. which between them cover every trade. Most new trades take 1–2 weeks to add as a JSON template (no code release). The AI custom-trade generator on /onboarding/custom can build a draft template for you in 30 seconds.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. cancel from Settings → Billing in two clicks. No phone call, no retention queue. Your quotes stay in the database for export to CSV or PDF; you keep what you've built.
